Admission to a later part of a programme

Students who have completed courses that are equivalent to parts of a programme at Malmö University may be admitted to later parts of a programme at the University. You must have completed at least the equivalent of the first semester of the programme in question. You must also meet the programme's admission requirements.

You will need to find out which faculty offers the programme before applying, as application deadlines vary between faculties. Information can be found on Find education, as well as information about the entry requirements for the programmes offered at Malmö University.

Application for admission to a later part of a programme can be one of the following:

  • Entry with advanced standing.
  • Resuming unfinished programme studies.
  • Change from a one-year to a two-year version of a Master's programme (or the other way round).
  • Transfer to a programme after taking one or more of the programme's courses individually.
Required documentation

Credits earned at universities other than Malmö University must be supported by formal documentation. The documents should be attached to your application as files (scanned or photographed).

Permitted file types are pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, gif, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, odt, txt, rtf. Please do not remove or change the file extension. File size cannot exceed 20MB.

  • Transcripts of records for credits earned at institutions other than Malmö University.
  • Course syllabi for any previous courses and programmes you have completed at other higher education institutions.
  • Course syllabi for the courses and programmes you have completed at other higher education institutions up to the start of the programme for which you are applying.
  • Other formal documents that you consider to be of value in this context.
  • If you cite studies at foreign higher education institutions, you must also show that you fulfil the general entry requirements and any specific entry requirements for the programme for which you are applying.
  • If you are a foreign citizen, you must enclose a certified copy of your passport, residence permit or other document stating whether or not you are exempt from tuition fees.
